Following protests across the U.S. condemning police brutality, which were sparked by the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner, a more politically organized march descended upon Washington D.C. on Saturday.
Led by the National Action Network, the NAACP and the Urban League, protesters aim to set a legislative agenda for U.S. Congress to implement new guidelines regarding police conduct and the handling of cases similar to that of Brown and Garner. More than 10,000 attended Saturday's event.
Another large march against police brutality is underway in New York City. Organizers met at Manhattan's Washington Square Park, and marched to One Police Plaza, headquarters of the New York Police Department.
