Live Search Maps Goes to China

Microsoft has launched Live Search 地图, the Chinese version of its Live Search Maps page, following in the footsteps of its biggest competitors in that market, Google and Sogou.

Not being all that fluent in Chinese, I can only repeat CNET's claims about the three sites: Google and Microsoft have listings for restaurants, banks, and similar locations right there on the map, while Sogou doesn't have that, but it tends to resolve addresses better than Google.

CNET also reports about certain discrepancies in the way these three sites depict Taiwan, although I'm sure that these are pretty much coincidental; no Internet giant would want to anger the government of a market as big as China.
