LiveStation: Microsoft's Joost Rival Debuts at IBC

LiveStation, the service that lets you watch broadcast television online using Silverlight, is being debuted in Europe at IBC. Read our initial post here.

You'll remember that with LiveStation, you'll get access to an array of live radio and television channels to your computer. This is, of course, different than video on-demand services like rival Joost, which operate by enabling you to select which videos you'd like to watch, and when. The service uses a peer-to-peer network for scalability purposes. Built by Skinkers, LiveStation's parent company is a Microsoft participated company, and its P2P distribution technology comes directly from Microsoft.
