Livestream iOS App Now Broadcasts Your GoPro Shenanigans

Good news for all the adrenaline junkies out there: Livestream updated its iOS app so that you can now use a GoPro camera as a broadcast source. The new feature works with GoPro cameras that feature built-in WiFi.

From the Livestream app, you connect to the GoPro’s WiFi network and stream from the camera using your phone’s 4G network connection.

Livestream demoed the new feature in a very GoPro-way, showing a person streaming video while kitesurfing. You’ll notice the video quality isn’t what you’d normally expect from a 1080p camera, but keep in mind this is streaming over a 4G connection.

Max Haot, CEO of Livestream, said the company had “received hundreds of requests” to add GoPro capabilities to the app, according to CNET.

Livestream says extreme sports athlete Chris McDougall helped the company test out the app while base jumping in Switzerland; you can see one of his crazy video from the area in the video below.
