Under the exclusive deal, Clear Channel will showcase LivingSocial's daily deals to 80 million listeners per week across 500 stations in 90 cities. The announcements will take the form of live reads from radio personalities in each market, who will talk about the deals throughout the day.
The outreach is the latest aggressive move by LivingSocial, which claimed back in March that it was poised to overtake Groupon by January 2012. LivingSocial now claims 46 million members compared to Groupon, which is reported to have as many as 115 million subscribers. Groupon broke the 50-million subscriber mark in January, but hasn't updated the figure since then.
