Australia's top footballers were celebrated at the Brownlow Medal in Melbourne Monday night, but one kid stole the spotlight from the men of the moment.

Lochie Sunderland, who is a promising young Aussie Rules football (AFL) player, got his chance to shine on the red carpet by interviewing star players as they arrived.

Dressed in a mini tuxedo and donning an oversized mic, the pint-sized interviewed the AFL players with confidence and won over the audience.

The Auskick kid far outshone the appointed red carpet interviewers. Keep him! #brownlow— Nick Smart (@NickSmart85) September 28, 2015

He no doubt gets some of his swagger from being awarded the 2014 AFL Auskicker of the Year -- which honours footy's youngest players -- and having Geelong captain Joel Selwood as his mentor, who he cheekily asked: "what you need to tell me, is how do I get a beautiful girlfriend like Brittany?"

Smooth, Sunderland, smooth.
