Frengo only recently announced its platform for creating Facebook and Open Social apps that run on the PC as well as web-enabled mobile phones, in essence carving out its own niche amongst the gaming and application-creation communities. Now, weeks later, we get to see a couple more of the apps that have resulted in Frengo's new direction.
And Frengo, which established itself as a mobile gaming site for consumer-facing apps, is taking a platform approach to the creating, promotion and interoperability of integrated social media applications. Its base strategy is similar to what other media and entertainment companies have done in the past year--SGN, Buddy Media and Splashcast are just a few of these companies that have found a major calling in leveraging open platforms for their own purposes.
