LONDON -- The capital is set to celebrate the spookiest night of the year this Friday (Oct. 31) but the city is haunted by unwelcome apparitions all year round.

Ladyland, a creative collective based in South London, have devised a series of alternative costumes for Halloween, celebrating some of the other feared characters that roam our streets.

Estate agents, hipsters and rats are among the fiendish line-up plus, oddly, the Queen.

The hipster

A recent infestation on the streets of numerous cities. Incidentally, the shirt is from River Island, the jeans are H&M, the tatts come from Party Superstores and the glasses are modified 3D specs from the cinema.

The hoodie

Long considered a menace in the Big Smoke. The model, Joseph, is clad in H&M clothes with an iPhone apparently "lifted from the art director's pocket".

The traffic warden

Equipped with a Penalty Charge Notice and a hefty utility belt, she's not a character you want to run into.

The rat

The scourge of every large city. Are they always less than six feet away?

The pigeon

Another common sight. This creation is customised from an ASOS jumper with handmade wings and a cardboard ring pull.

The estate agent

A controversial figure in London, not least when they come in Foxtons clothing. Foxtons told Mashable there was "no official response" to the costume.

The Queen

She'll have anti-monarchists in the UK running for the hills.

The duo behind the images are Emma Scott-Child, an art director and graphic designer, and photographer Dee Ramadan.
