LONDON -- Police are appealing for information after a man was caught on CCTV slicing through a Porsche in an attempt to steal it.

In the video below, the suspect uses a knife to cut open the roof of a convertible Porsche, climbs through the hole when no one's looking, fails to start it, and then finally gives up and walks away.

The footage was released on Wednesday, but filmed on Tuesday 29 September.

Appeal to help identify this man in connection with several incidents in #Westminster. Call 101 quoting ref 191011 https://t.co/uDETWWCyAV— Metropolitan Police (@metpoliceuk) November 11, 2015

Police are also looking to speak to the same suspect in relation to a string of other offences that occurred that morning, including another attempted Porsche theft and a robbery at JD Sports on Oxford Street.

The incident shown in the CCTV footage took place on Mill Street, in London's Mayfair area, and anyone with any information can contact police on 101 (quoting image 191011) or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
