Loomia Raises $5M for Online Recommendation Services

Loomia, the company behind the SeenThis Facebook application, has just closed $5 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Asset Management Company along with two other investors, Peacock Equity (the joint venture between GE and NBC Universal) and Telefonica Capital S.A.U.

[img src="" caption="" credit="" alt=""]What Loomia does is provide a recommendation engine tool that can be used for your site's content, your retail inventory, and more. The service can be seen at the bottom of many of its clients' pages, and is becoming a rather typical feature on content-rich sites, thanks to the popularization of Amazon's "if you like this, then you'll also like this" concept. With existing clients including The Wall Street Journal Online (and its Facebook app), CNET, NBC.com and Audible, Loomia is gaining traction is a crowded market.
