This was one smooth move.

For most Los Angeles residents, few things are more rage-inducing than traffic--so what better way to announce a 40-hour freeway closure (a.k.a. "slow jam") than with the soothing tones of smooth jazz?

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti did just that, with the help of a few cool cat high school musicians, in a Facebook video posted Friday.

"The 101 freeway east of Downtown will take a break for 40 hours of R&R, and R&B," Garcetti crooned. "Stay safe out there, cats--and by that I mean Los Angeles."
