Every dog has her day, and this one had to wait seven years for it.

A Florida family got the surprise of their lives when a woman called and said she had their dog, Lola -- seven years after she reportedly went missing.

Julie Arango and her daughter Celina Papas lost their Boston terrier after she dug a hole underneath their fence. The family told CBS Miami that they spent months looking for Lola, but had no luck after the disappearance.

The dog was found, thanks to the kindness of strangers and a microchip. A woman named Linda Gall responded to a Craigslist ad for a Boston terrier that was being given away for free. A family had taken care of the dog for the past seven years, but couldn't keep her anymore.

After rescuing the dog, Gall took her to the vet, where they quickly found a microchip that revealed Lola's true owners: Arango and her daughter. Gall wasted no time contacting the original owners.

“She was adamant,” Arango told CBS Miami. “She goes, 'No. You’re Julie. And you had a Boston Terrier and her name was Lola.' I was like, 'That was so many years…' She goes, 'I have your dog.' I go, 'No.' I had goosebumps all over."
