Animals have a tendency to get lost in Australia, although only a few end up in hard-to-reach places.

That's what happened to this dear little platypus, found down a stormwater drain near Caboolture station in Queensland by security guard Anna-Maria on Wednesday morning.

"I was at work, about to finish night shift, and was told that a security guard had rescued a platypus from a stormwater drain found near the Caboolture station," John Summers, the shift supervisor said in a statement emailed to Mashable Australia. The furry fellow was named Percy and taken to Australia Zoo.

This monotreme, that's a mammal that lays eggs, is the latest critter to be found by Queensland Rail wandering in their stations or tracks. Past trainspotting animals include a cow walking through Rosewood station and a turtle waddling onto the tracks in Wellington Point, according to the rail authority. Percy definitely takes the cake as the most adorable.
