Louisville Coach Keeps Promise, Gets Championship Tattoo

As Kevin Ware's amazing saga unfolded during the University of Louisville's March Madness championship run recently, another story got overshadowed: the fact that Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino had promised his team earlier in the year that he would get a tattoo if they ended up winning the title.

Lo and behold, we learned on Friday that the 60-year-old Pitino was true to his word, getting a big ol' commemorative "L" tatted to his left shoulder blade. And as you can see in the photo above, tweeted out by Louisville media relations director Kenny Klein, that's no cop-out; it's some bonafide ink. Here's a closer look, also via Klein:
