Books, meet emoji. Emoji, meet books.
Macmillan Children's Publishing Group just released what the company says is the first ever branded emoji keyboard inspired by a book, The Lunar Chronicles Emoji app.

The app is a downloadable keyboard featuring 24 emoji stickers that bring characters, quotes and scenes from the bestselling Young Adult series The Lunar Chronicles straight to your phone.
The keyboard was created in partnership with Swyft Media (the company responsible for keyboard apps such Popemoji, a Pope-themed emoji keyboard app) to help readers discuss the book series.
"The wonderful thing about fandoms in this day and age is that fans are able to interact with the story in a million different ways," says Marrisa Meyer, author of The Lunar Chronicles. "The emoji keyboard is fantastic for that -- it's fun, visual, and interactive, and adds one more experience that goes beyond simply reading the books."
Updating traditional reading experiences is at the core of The Lunar Chronicles -- which is a retelling of classic fairy tales with a futuristic sci-fi twist. Rather than princesses, knights or dragons, The Lunar Chronicles features cyborgs, spaceship pilots and computer hackers.
The keyboard arrives in time for the fourth and final book in the series, Winter, which hits bookshelves November 10.
You can find the emoji set as a sticker pack via the social network Tango on November 10, and the keyboard will also be available in its own standalone apps on iOS and Android later this month.
