Countries across Asia are beginning to celebrate the Lunar New Year, and ring in the Year of the Sheep.

During the 40-day period in China, hundreds of millions of people travel home to celebrate the New Year with their friends and family, according to the BBC. It is reportedly regarded as the world's largest annual human migration.

Although the biggest celebration is in China, many places with sizable ethnic Chinese populations -- notably Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia -- will also celebrate the Lunar New Year this month.
