Lytro -- the company behind the world's first consumer light-field camera, which looks and acts like no other camera we've ever seen -- has rolled out new colors for the camera as well as a series of accessories.
When the Lytro camera was first unveiled in December 2011, it was quickly deemed the biggest thing that has happened to photography since digital, thanks to its “shoot now, focus later” capabilities. Its light-field camera captures light information from all rays in its field of view — not just color and intensity but direction as well, so you can worry about focusing the image at a later time.
Ahead of the holiday season, the Lytro camera on Tuesday has added to its lineup of red hot, electric blue and graphite camera colors with the addition of moxie pink and green-tinted seaglass. The new models are on sale exclusively at Target.com for $399 (8GB) and will hit CityTarget stores in November.
Lytro also announced new accessories, including a canvas-coated camera case. The carrier, which is now available at Lytro.com and retailers such as BestBuy.com for $59.95, is lined with soft microfiber and features a removable bucket to hold several accessories.
A new Lytro Camera Sleeve ($29.99) has also been released, along with a matching wrist strap for easy access to the camera.
