UPDATE, July 16, 2:45 p.m. ET: Kanye West and Iggy Azalea have been added to the L.A. lineup. West will also play in Philadelphia.

"Say what you need to say," sings guitar-toting heartthrob John Mayer. And denizens of Twitter are following that advice Thursday after Budweiser revealed that Mayer will headline the bi-coastal Made in America music festival's Los Angeles lineup on Aug. 30-31.

Earlier in the day, festival co-founder Jay Z picked Kanye West and Kings of Leon to be the headliners at the festival's Philadelphia concerts.

But the L.A. selections of Mayer and Imagine Dragons disappointed some music fans, whose frustration came out in the form of snarky tweets:

Can we trade John Mayer + draft picks to Philly for Kanye West? #MadeInAmerica— ChampagneYayi (@izzo_said) May 22, 2014

Philly gets Kanye. We get John Mayer. Seriously @GerrickKennedy, we need any more proof that Jay-Z hates LA? #madeinamericafestival14— Lorraine Ali (@LorraineAli) May 22, 2014

Imagine Dragons, John Mayer are not Kanye West, Kings of Leon. LA got screwed. Also, on an unbiased level, the bookers failed on headlining— Matt G. (@OhMattG) May 22, 2014

Snark aside, here's how the lineups stack up.

Full Los Angeles Lineup

Imagine Dragons, John Mayer, Steve Aoki, Juanes, Afrojack, Kendrick Lamar, Rise Against, Weezer, Sublime w/ Rome, Metric, Capital Cities, Chance the Rapper, Cypress Hill, Gareth Emery, R3HAB, Schoolboy Q, Wolfgang Gartner, Borgore, DVBBS, 12th Planet, YG, Mute Math, Rita Ora, Nipsey Hussle, Dr. Dog, Terraplane Sun, ZZ Ward, Classixx, Hit-Boy, DJ Mustard, Ab-Soul, Isaiah Rashad, Jay Rock, SZA, Yellowclaw, Grits & Biscuits, Will Sparks, Cut Snake, Scavenger Hunt, A Tribe Called Red

Full Philadelphia Lineup

Kanye West, Kings of Leon, Tiesto, The National, Steve Aoki, Pharrell Williams, J. Cole, Girl Talk, Spoon, Chromeo, City and Colour, Grimes, AWOLNATION, R3HAB, Gareth Emery, De La Soul, Baauer, Tommy Trash, Mayer Hawthorne, Kongos, 3LAU, The Neighborhood, Danny Brown, YG, Holy Ghost, Penguin Prison, Destructo, Bleachers, DJ Cassidy, Cherub, Will Sparks, Young & Sick, Vacationer, Cut Snake, Kaneholler

The disappointment of the lineup was made worse, perhaps, by its long-winded, overhyped unveiling process. Budweiser used a series of neon animations on Twitter to slowly announce the lineups over the course of four hours.

Tickets for Made in America are available at the festival's website.
