Madonna paid tribute to the late David Bowie while performing a stadium show in Houston, Texas on Jan. 12.

Before launching into a performance of "Rebel, Rebel," Madonna made a short speech about the artist, calling him the man who "inspired my career."

"He was one of the geniuses in the music industry, one of the greatest singer/songwriters of the twentieth century," she says. "He changed my life when I went to see him in concert in Detroit."
