Magnify has been doing a lot lately in the realm of video, from enterprise solutions, to community-building network functionality and a widget that takes full advantage of the recently released YouTube API. The latest project from Magnify may seem like a bit of a departure from Magnify's custom networks, but as CEO Steve Rosenbaum notes, it's really more of an evolution.

So what's the new tool? It's a blogging add-on that is inserted directly in your WYSIWYG editor, which is quite different from other add-ons we've seen from Yahoo and others. This little button, once clicked, will pull up a pop up window with a video and image search.

As Magnify already specialized in multi-site video search, that portion of the tool was no issue. if you're a Magnify user then you'll recognize this portion of the new blogging tool right off the bat. Your search results can be filtered by video site (YouTube, MetaCafe), and can then be added to your blog post with one click. If you'd like some additional info, like the title and creator of a particular clip or the embed code, that's made available in this same search window as well.

The biggest "departure" for magnify with this blogging tool is the image search, which was a highly encouraged feature based on beta testing. Right now it's a basic image search, but soon it will also include similar filtering options to sift through results from Google, Yahoo, etc.
