Disney treated Maleficent fans to the film's first official clip, starring Angelina Jolie as the titular villain.
Maleficent tells the story of Sleeping Beauty through the eyes of the fairy tale's iconic villain. The one-minute clip shows an uneasy exchange between Maleficent and King Stefan during his daughter Princess Aurora's christening. Though short, the clip offers a chilling preview of Jolie's subtle but menacing performance as the Mistress of All Evil.
The clip comes just a few days after a Disney featurette previewing the mystical creatures lurking deep in Maleficent's magical forest.
Maleficent is directed by Robert Stromberg and produced by Brad Pitt. The film hits theaters on May 30.
