Mamaherb is a Wiki WebMD for Natural Remedies

Mamaherb is a new site that lets users share their knowledge of natural remedies that work, and collaborate with others from within the community to create a collective knowledge base of useful treatments for various ailments. It's sort of a user-generated WebMD, somewhat like Taumed, but for natural remedies. Mamaherb is very easy to navigate, and content is organized by remedy and ingredient. If you initiate a search, you'll see the multiple remedies that match your query from contributing users. Click on one of these and you'll see a full description.

What I found to be especially helpful was a breakdown of the ingredients used for each remedy. Each of these ingredients can pull up a search of other remedies in which it's used, and each ingredients gets its own entry as well. Adding entries for remedies and ingredients is easy enough, and if you begin to type an ingredient that's already been added to the site, Mamaherb will let you know. From there, you can further add information to the existing entry, and in this sense, Mamaherb is much like a wiki.

Entries can be rated, shared, bookmarked and subscribed to for updates. For each remedy, you can mark it as a remedy that has worked for you. This circular organization to the site is what makes it so easy to navigate, and find what you're looking for. As more entries are added to the site, this type of navigation will be even more useful. The whole concept of being able to search by ingredient reminded me of a recipe-sharing site called GroupRecipe. It may not be an exact comparison, but the ability to search accordingly is quite similar.
