LONDON -- There's something undeniably cool about hidden messages -- particularly if the message in question happens to be a letter that's been waiting for someone to read it for the past 15 years.

Alex Moss from Manchester, UK, discovered the following piece of paper when redecorating the bedroom of his house.

Having our bedroom floor replaced. Opened up the fireplace and was met with this… #finddarrenclucas #manchester pic.twitter.com/e8mlDSopqC— Alex Moss (@alexmoss) March 11, 2016

Moss shared the letter on Reddit, and posted it to Twitter with the hashtage #finddarrenlucas.

And eventually, Darren Lucas surfaced.

@alexmoss I'm not watching I promise.. Enjoy Guest Road. What a house.— dclu (@D_Clucas) March 11, 2016

@D_Clucas yeah I can see things starting to sprout now. Should I send a pic of the room once it’s done or will it look weird for you?— Alex Moss (@alexmoss) March 11, 2016

@alexmoss Really hope you enjoy the house as much as we all did. We have had some awesome parties there!!!— dclu (@D_Clucas) March 11, 2016

@alexmoss family lived there for 20 years.Bit emotional leaving. I will hold on to the memories I have! But thanks mate.— dclu (@D_Clucas) March 11, 2016

If this story isn't proof of just how essential it is to leave a secret message whenever you decorate a room, we don't know what is.
