Donny Stone was hiking in Alberta, Canada on Tuesday when he noticed two cougars cross the path in front of him, according to the the description on this YouTube video.

So Stone got out his bear spray, an EPA-regulated form of pepper spray, as well as his bear banger, a tool that creates a loud noise to scare bears in the vicinity. As he was walking past where the cougars crossed the road, one of the big cats jumped out at Stone as he passed. Fortunately, Stone was prepared, using the spray to scare away them away.

Stone said on YouTube that seeing the cougars was "was always a dream of mine," later admitting that he was happy to be carrying his bear spray too.
