Man's inspiring final Facebook post lives on after his death

A man's last Facebook post is inspiring thousands after he was struck and killed by a drunk driver on New Year's Eve.

Matthew DeRemer, a 31-year-old from Seminole, Florida was killed in a car accident on New Year's Eve, The Tampa Bay Times reports.

DeRemer was riding his motorcycle through an intersection a little before 8 p.m. when Steven Lee Clarke, 59, turned left into the motorcycle's path, according to the report. DeRemer was found dead at the scene. Clarke was arrested on manslaughter charges.

However, earlier that day, DeRemer wrote a Facebook post which has since been shared thousands of times.

DeRemer's friends and commenters who came across his post shared their love for DeRemer and found inspiration in the powerful message he wrote.

In the comment section, DeRemer also shared goals that he hoped to accomplish this year.

My goal this year, while battling all obstacles, is to redefine my life by living as selfless as possible. Life "it isn't about me or my wants, its about all the people who need love in their lives that been lost over time." Lol this morning has been the most uplifting morning in a long time!
