Mariah Carey's Billboard Music Awards performance hit some of the right notes

At least she showed up, guys. And, at moments, she sparkled (though somewhat literally).

Diva extrodinaire Mariah Carey made her first appearance on the Billboard Music Awards stage in 17 years Sunday night, performing "Infinity."

In true Mariah fashion, she wore a dazzling dress, which help distract the audience from her backup singers hitting more of the big notes than the singer herself.

But at one point, Mariah got transported to the '90s and pulled off a few high notes that made her the idol we all love and admire. Then it was back to this:
