Marissa Mayer Got a $1.2 Million Bonus at Yahoo After Six Months

Marissa Mayer got a $1.2 million bonus at Yahoo after just under six months there, according to a regulatory filing.

Mayer, who joined Yahoo as CEO last July, was eligible for a bonus of up to $2 million if she met certain performance goals. As the company's 8-K filing states, "Ms. Mayer’s 2012 bonus was pro-rated based on her mid-year date of hire." As previously reported, Mayer receives a $1 million annual salary, but could earn as much as $50 million in total compensation -- including stock options -- if she stays on for five years.

As AllThingsD points out, the payment is a bargain for Yahoo since the company's stock has risen about 50% since Mayer came on board. Mayer has also elicited a strong interest from the press. Her sort-of crackdown on employees who work from home, for instance, became a national topic of discussion last month.
