'Sherlock' co-creator's tweet has fans in a frenzy

LONDON -- Sherlock co-creator Mark Gatiss has surprised fans by breaking the news that Series 4 is under way.

Although there is no official release date, the mastermind behind the popular BBC drama -- who also plays Mycroft Holmes in it -- revealed on Twitter that the detective drama is in the works.

The image of a skull wearing glasses was tweeted alongside the words, "I spy Series Four… #Sherlock."

The cryptic tweet was followed by an array of comments from users confessing how exciting the prospect of a new season is, with one user estimating there is only 18 months to go before it airs on television.
