A Marmite taste test in Japan did not go down very well

Marmite: You either love it or hate it. Some can't get enough of the sticky, salty yeast extract; just as many people gag at the thought of it.

It's a schism celebrated by the company itself since the '90s, when it launched a successful Love It or Hate It campaign.

YouTuber Chris Broad, a self-confessed "sarcastic British guy living in Japan," took Marmite to Japan for a taste test to introduce it to the locals.

The reviews were decidedly lukewarm.
