We get to make videos about a lot of cool gadgets here at Mashable, but when we were told the video team could take a $340,000 McLaren 675LT out for a day, we wanted to make it count.
We recruited YouTube filmmaker Casey Neistat to get behind the wheel of the supercar and race it against extreme cyclist Lucas Brunelle through the streets of New York City.
Just another day for these pros.
Whatever route you wanna choose
The race itself was as real as it could be. If you know how midday traffic can be in New York City, you might be able to guess the outcome.
A confident Brunelle wove in and out of traffic, sometimes looping back to taunt Neistat in his 675-horsepower machine as it crawled uptown. The pro-cyclist even took a brief break to pick up a snack for the finish line.
To get an idea of what went down, check out these behind the scenes photos from the day.
Here's Neistat's vlog of the same day. Keep an eye out for a cameo from a very enthusiastic taxi driver.
