MOG is gearing up for a complete site redesign, which will include better page load time, a new color scheme, and easier ways to consume music. More importantly however, there will be full-length tracks available on MOG, which will also be available for your music widgets and playlists. Instead of the 30-second samples that currently on MOG, full-length tracks give you better ways to enjoy your music. Duh. This indicates that MOG has signed some sort of licensing deal with one or more of the major music labels.

No one would be surprised if this were the case. With rival Last.fm being snatched up by CBS, and record labels finding easier ways for users to share music (hooray, DRM-free!), it will become increasingly easier for communities and services like MOG to offer up more variety and better music options to the end users. Few details have been given from MOG, but the first implementation of the new site relaunch is scheduled for November. In other news, Last.fm has recently launched a new campaign of its own, for helping artists jump-start their careers.
