Google Adsense Network Taking Over Facebook Apps?

Google is reportedly working on an AdSense network just for Facebook apps. While Adsense was already available for Facebook app developers, and not just through apps that use iFrames, this new network will let advertisers run their ads across all participating Facebook apps, reports Venturebeat. This means that there's more control for advertisers looking to get into Facebook for targeted advertising purposes, getting users where they seem to be highly active.

With Facebook apps accounting for about a third of Facebook's recent growth, it's no wonder that so many like Appfuel, Chitika and Widgetbox are looking for ways to monetize the applications, especially through advertising networks. How long will Facebook let this go on, and how can it get a bigger chunk of the pie? While I'm anxious to see how Facebook and others will take advantage of the applications for financial gain, I'm wary of the assured clutter that Google ads will bring to the otherwise simple implementation of Facebook apps.
