Massive bug swarm blankets Iowa, haunts your nightmares

If ever there was a time for DEFCON 1, this is it.

Millions of mayflies descended on a bridge in Sabula, Iowa on Saturday night, causing a major traffic clog and major terror for bug haters. The bugs were "piled knee high" according local reserve officer, Stephen Thayer, and the county had to use snowplows to remove them from the road, reported WHO 13.

The Iowa bug blanket comes just after a swarm of bugs grew so large it was spotted on a weather radar over Knox County in Texas.
