Famed Hollywood hunk and fictional stripper Matthew McConaughey has embraced the inevitability of fate with his latest role, which requires a fat suit and a bald patch.

McConaughey was spotted in costume for the upcoming film Gold -- not to be confused with Fool's Gold. McConaughey plays Kenny Wells, a businessman who teams up with a geologist to search for gold in Indonesia. In the photos, looks like a shadow of his former self -- or perhaps his future self, if the world is just and treats us all equally. (But really, we hope it doesn’t.)

The actor last altered his physique for his Academy Award-winning role as Ron Woodroof in Dallas Buyers Club. He didn't undergo any actual physical changes for Gold, though: The real McConaughey is still there, lurking beneath the extra layers and prosthetic nose. All right, all right, all right?
