People love firsts. They love first children, first imprints -- and now, first special sauces.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Big Mac, McDonald's decided to auction off the first-ever bottle of special sauce made in the United Kingdom. Two weeks ago, McDonald's made an eBay listing for the bottle, with an starting price of $4.33. And after 232 bids, the price reached £65,900 -- or approximately $96,000.

And yes. It sold.

While this bottle of special sauce was the "first," there's nothing particularly special about it. It's just the standard mix of mayo, mustard, relish and "special"/artificial ingredients. The winner will receive not only sauce, but a fancy black box, as well as refrigerated delivery. All for the low low price of $96,000.

Over in Australia, the company sold 4,000 "first" special sauce bottles for $4.99 each. Sure, that's a little bit cheaper than $100,000 -- but do they have the same inflated magic?
