Just last week we heard of Me.dium's inclusion of support for Firefox 3 and Songbird. Today, Me.dium has announced at MIX08 that it's in fact been hand-picked for showcasing its social browsing tool for support of the upcoming Internet Explorer 8. IE8 is still in beta, and is currently testing the Beta 1 release.

From the looks of it, Me.dium has been working in tandem with Microsoft to ensure that some of IE8's key features are enhanced with Me.dium's social browsing plug-in. Webslices and Activities, for example, are two features that have been targeted for integration. With IE8 Webslices, you'll be able to subscribe to various portions of a page if they have dynamic updates. Me.dium has added integration with this feature so you can receive your updates directly in your sidebar.
The integration for Activities is rather similar, with a social discovery option for page content that's been selected for the Activities feature. Activities works by presenting action options for selected page content, so highlighting a term or phrase will present you with the ability to pull up a search, or access a map for the selected content.
