Starting today, users of those partner sites – starting with CafeMom – will be able to login to multiple chat networks from within the site they are on. In other words, users of CafeMom will be able to chat not only with other CafeMom users, but also with friends on Facebook, MySpace, AIM, and the other IM networks that Meebo supports.
As we noted recently, Meebo’s network of third-party sites – via what the company calls Community IM - now accounts for about 20 percent of Meebo’s total traffic of about 50 million users per month. And those users are fairly active, sending an average of 50 messages per day. With the ability for them to now interact with friends across chat networks, expect them to become even more active, further inflating Meebo’s numbers, as well as keeping users on partner sites like CafeMom for longer.
