Meebo has been named the fastest growing instant messaging destination in the last 10 months, according to Nielsen's NetRatings.
Its unique audience has grown about 354% since August 2006, and has since grown to reach 2 million visitors just last month. As Meebo is a very inclusive chat network, aggregating the most popular chat clients, it has a wide appeal. Google Talk has also gained significant traction in the last year, tripling its user base and has reached 2.3 million unique visitors. Both of these chat tools are somewhat more accessible from anywhere on the net, and Meebo has also done well to offer several integration options for existing social networks, as well as media-sharing tools.
In addition, IMVU has grown 154% since last August, and Paltalk, the video chat tool, has seen a good amount of growth too. In related news, ComScore has tweaked its own metrics system, partially in response to Nielsen's NetRatings and other upgrades.
