They've gone international, too, localizing the experience yet further for non-English users. Other minor improvements include the addition of AIM profiles, a facelift for the chat logs and a much faster experience overall.
Meebo is on a roll right now. Back in July, they added the MeeboIM to the Netvibes startpage, while in August they launched MeeboMe, an extremely useful widget that allows visitors to your blog or MySpace page to leave messages. These new features can only continue that momentum.
Rivals include eBuddy (formerly e-Messenger), KoolIM and Mabber. A new service, RadiusIM, combines a Meebo-like service with mapping. Other rivals don't aggregate multiple IM services: MessengerFX, for instance, simply puts MSN Messenger on a web page. Meebo and eBuddy seem to be the leaders in this space, although it's incredibly difficult to get good stats about any of these services.
