United States Chief Technology Officer Megan Smith will be speaking at Friday's Digital Beltway conference, which will bring together politicians, activists and thought leaders to discuss the intersection of politics and technology.

In her role as CTO in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Smith’s primary focus is examining how tech and innovation can work together to better the country. She most recently served as a vice president in the leadership team at Google X, where she co-created its Women Techmakers initiative.

Smith will join speakers including NBC's Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd and U.S. Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz at the Newseum Knight Conference Center in Washington, D.C., on Friday.
