All good things must come to an end eventually. You might love certain GIFs -- you might hold onto certain YouTube clips forever. But all trends have a life span; they are mortal. All memes must meet their maker.

Sometimes, like Harlem Shake videos, they go silently and peacefully. Other times, they fight to the very last flash mob.

We need to be better about letting go, Internet. Some of the memes below got their fair share of love this year, but we need to realize when it's time to move on to bigger and better things. Let’s join forces and stop sharing them. Together.
