It's a man's world -- at least for the next three days in New York City fashion circles. New York Fashion Week: Men's officially launches on Tuesday, the first show dedicated solely to the menswear market in New York.

The best of American men's designers will be on display for all to see at the show put on by the Council of Fashion Designers of America and sponsored by the likes of Shinola, Dreamworks, Cadillac, Amazon and Axe.

The week will also kick off with a few ambassadors -- Andy Cohen, Dwyane Wade, Joe Jonas, Victor Cruz and Casey Neistat, among others -- who will be showing their goodwill throughout the city.

A fashion week dedicated to men has been a long time coming. For years, women reigned supreme while men took the back seat. Now that American menswear is taken seriously, with talents becoming internationally recognized, the week is one for the guys.

Here are ten designers showing this week that you'll want to know. You'll see them in your wardrobe eventually -- if they're not already there.

Public School

Soon to become a household name, Public School is probably one of the most exciting men's brands to come out of New York City in a while. Created by the duo Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osbourne who met while working for Sean John, the brand gives contemporary tailored sportswear a street flavor. The brand has already won the 2013 CFDA Swarovski Award for Menswear and the 2014 CFDA Menswear Designer of the Year Award. It also nabbed the International Woolmark Prize, representing the U.S. of A.

Robert Geller

Robert Geller, a veteran from Marc Jacobs, went on to launch a successful and much buzzed-about brand, Cloak, along with fellow designer Alexandre Plokhov. The brand later won the Ecco Domani award in 2003, and in 2007, Geller debuted his first men's collection, which would later receive GQ's Best New Menswear Designer Award. He's known for making old-school and old-time silhouettes modern with elevated fabrics.

Orley

The trio keeps it in the family. The brand -- comprised of Matthew and Alex Orley, along with Matthew's wife Samantha -- focuses on luxurious Italian knitwear. In 2014, Orley was named a finalist for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, a major feat for such a young brand, which launched in 2012.

Tim Coppens

Tim Coppens, known for mixing tech fabrics together with a modern silhouette, has been pushing men's fashion forward since he launched his brand in 2011. His stints at Adidas and Ralph Lauren have helped him create an athletic-inspired brand known for sophistication as well as cool street cred. Coppens has something for the ladies as well; he recently launched a women's collection for spring/summer 2015.

Billy Reid

Southern through and through, Billy Reid whole-heartedly infuses his background into his designs. Based in Florence, Alabama, Reid takes a modern approach to the classic folksy heritage aesthetic. His career began in 1998 with his line, William Reid, which later closed down in the aftermath of Sept. 11. Reid rebranded with Billy Reid and has since taken home GQ's Best New Menswear Designers in America award, among others.
