Some rules were meant to be broken.

Selfies were en vogue at this year's Met Gala, despite Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour imposing a strict ban on them.

Guests received notice with event details last week, stating, "The use of phones for photography and social media will not be permitted inside the gala," NY Post first reported.

Apparently, that ban was not heavily enforced, as celebrities managed to skirt the rules and share candid moments from inside the Met to their personal accounts. Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and the queen of selfies herself, Kim Kardashian, all broke the no-selfie rule which prohibited them from using social media inside the event.

Of course, those of us not glamorous enough to attend aren't complaining.

These celebrities are busted for breaking the rules and running wild with their selfies. You better hope Wintour doesn't take those sunglasses off.
