Have you ever wondered how it would feel to live like a 16th century Sultan? Head over to the Met and see for yourself.

Until July 26th, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is showcasing the splendor of the Deccan Sultans in an exhibition titled, "Sultans of Deccan India, Opulence and Fantasy: 1500-1700".

According to the Met, the exhibition "explores the unmistakable character of classical Deccani art in various media: poetic lyricism in painting, lively creations in metalwork, and a distinguished tradition of textile production." Maybe most alluring, though, are the jewels on display. From the Shah Jahan Diamond to the "Idol's Eye," these gemstones are among the most splendid in the world.
