Video sharing service Metacafe has launched Director’s Cut, a channel for showcasing the site’s best filmmakers. The channel features videos that have been nominated by Metacafe users and approved by editors at the company. Videos will be accepted in four different categories: comedy, action & drama, animation, and documentary.
For Metacafe videos that are part of the Producer Rewards program, their pages will include a “Nominate for Director’s Cut” button. Additionally, any user who wants to try and get their content featured in the new channel can do so by selecting it when they upload. Metacafe plans to evaluate nominations weekly.
