There's a real art to delivering authentic cosplay, and these Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain fans just upped the game for everyone.

Artists Maul Cosplay and Maja Felicitas styled themselves after Phantom Pain stars Snake and Quiet, respectively, in a shoot for Defcon Unlimited. They then added live grey wolves provided by Filmwölfe Lobine.

In Metal Gear Solid V, players can collect a wolf puppy early on that eventually matures into a full-blown traveling companion/guard dog/furry radar for use during missions. It's been a popular element in the game, because wolves are awesome and this one -- named Diamond Dog, or D-Dog -- is your friend.

These photos are great; the costuming, staging, lighting is all professional-caliber work (from shooter eosAndy). Also, did we mention there are living grey wolves in a bunch of the shots?

Enjoy the handful of pictures here. There's a whole gallery of them on Facebook.
