Michael B. Jordan would gladly slip on Adonis's boxing gloves again for a Creed sequel.

"A character so rich as this, and the world he's in, I want to see what happens to him next and what he does," Jordan told the Associated Press in an interview. "Especially the way it ends off, it's pretty cool. I think with success and time and circumstances, it would be exciting to come back and work with (co-stars) Sly (Stallone) and Tessa (Thompson) again."

Director Ryan Coogler also shared that he'd be excited to do a sequel.

The film, which begins a new chapter in the iconic Rocky franchise, follows Apollo Creed's grandson, Adonis (Jordan).

It performed well at the box office after opening last week, snagging $42.6 million over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The film was beat out only by juggernaut The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 and Pixar's The Good Dinosaur.

Oscar buzz has also been brewing for the film, particularly for Sylvester Stallone's performance. But according to Rocky himself, all recognition should go to Coogler.

“I think it’s because of what this young man and has done and how he directed it. He just put me in a good light,” Stallone said in an interview with Variety.
