LOS ANGELES -- As if Birdman weren't Hollywood-meta enough with Michael Keaton playing a washed-up former star of a superhero film franchise, he's now itching to kick Edward Norton's renowned but difficult stage-actor character off his play. (Norton, a two-time Oscar nominee and one of the finest actors working today, is known to be difficult and demanding -- which is why Mark Ruffalo is now playing the Hulk in the Marvel cinematic universe.)

Birdman (or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) opens in limited release this weekend and is already considered a lock for several Oscar nominations, including best picture and multiple acting nods.
