Steve Ballmer is scheduled to make a conference call with “financial analysts” at the sprightly hour of 8:00AM EST (5:00AM PST) on Monday, February 4, according to Henry Blodget of Silicon Alley Insider.
What’s he going to talk about? Goodness, how can one guess at this point. Could something so important be on Microsoft CEO’s mind (the company CFO will also be joining the chat) to wake anyone a mere hour before the New York markets open?
Of course, the topics Monday morning will be Yahoo!, Yahoo!, Yahoo!. Steve will likely spend a good portion reiterating his intentions to be forceful with its desired acquisition if the company is pushed to resort to such measures. As Mashable editor-in-chief Adam Ostrow relayed here yesterday, Yahoo!’s response to Microsoft’s demands so far is that the company board would do an extensive “review” of the offer. A message that may well be interpreted as: “We will not kowtow to Microsoft’s very overt demand so soon.”
