Minecraft's blocky worlds could could be coming to any surface of your home -- if you plan to buy Microsoft's HoloLens augmented reality headset.

At its E3 press conference on Monday, Microsoft demonstrated what it had been working on since it acquired Minecraft in September. The sandbox building game will be available via the HoloLens, putting Minecraft not just on screens, but on tables, too.

We saw members of the Mojang team play Minecraft together from the stage: one using a controller and traditional monitor, but one taking a "God view" of the Minecraft world sitting on the table in front of him.

Minecraft's HoloLens adaptation doesn't have a release date, as the headset itself is just set for release "in the Windows 10 timeframe." The demo also didn't specify if it was running on a Windows machine or Xbox One console.
